Obligations Placed on us by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

U.S. Government regulations prohibit U.S. insurance companies from making payments for claims that occurred during an illegal trip to Cuba. For this reason, CISI must require that all claims originating in Cuba must be accompanied by a valid license for travel from the U.S. Treasury Department or another official U.S. government entity.

At this time, only sanctions against the country of Cuba prohibit the payment of insurance claims. CISI will endeavor to update this website should any new sanctions be imposed by the U.S. Government that would prohibit claims payments to another country.
