Inbound foreign students to the U.S. have 31 days from their arrival to apply for the insurance, at which time coverage will be backdated to their original departure date from their home country, or else upon receipt of the application in our office.

CISI-Bolduc encourages Inbound Rotary Exchange participants to contact their credit card company or bank prior to purchasing the insuarnce via credit card and advise of the expected charge. Credit card companies take steps to protect their customers and my not authorize the premium charge due to a heightened risk of international credit card fraud. Such security measures mean that some unusual transactions be denied.

What are the differences between Plan A and Plan B?

  • The most important difference is the Plan B goes to 100% payment of usual and customary charges up to the $500,000 USD maximum once the student pays a one-time $100 USD deductible and 20% of the first $2,500 USD of medical expenses (out of pocket limited to $600 USD). Plan A goes to 80% payment of usual and customary charges up to the $500,000 USD maximum once the student pays a one-time $100 USD deductible. This means the student and his/her family is responsible for 20% of expenses of to $500,000 USD. We recommend participants purchase Plan A only if they have a supplemental policy that will pay the difference.
