The Worldwide Trip Protector Plans with travel insurance underwritten by the United States Fire Insurance Company, rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best 2020, may help protect the financial investment for educational travel both domestically and abroad. Ideal for study/intern abroad and educational K-12 travel, the program provides trip cost protection for individual travel including students, faculty and chaperones.

The Worldwide Trip Protector plans have a 14 day “Free Look” period . If you are not completely satisfied with the plan, you may notify the Company within 14 days of the effective date of your coverage. The Company will give you a full refund, provided you have not already departed on the covered trip incurred a loss or filed a claim.

  • Travel Delay

    May provide benefits (i.e. reimbursement of lodging, food and other reasonable expenses) if you are delayed by quarantine, Natural Disaster or other covered reasons.

  • Trip Cancellation

    May provide reimbursement (up to 100% of Trip Cost) when forced to cancel for quarantine, sickness or other reasons covered by the plan.

  • Trip Interruption

    May provide reimbursement (up to 150% of Trip Cost) when you must interrupt your trip due to quarantine, sickness or other reasons covered by the plan.

  • Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR)*

    May provide reimbursement when forced to cancel your trip For Any Reason (up to 75% of non-refundable Trip Cost).

  • Interrupt For Any Reason (IFAR)*

    May provide reimbursement when you must interrupt your trip For Any Reason (up to 75% of non-refundable Trip Cost).

*CFAR must be purchased within 21 days of the date when your initial deposit/payment is received, and you must also insure within 21 days of the deposit/payment the cost of any subsequent travel arrangements added to your trip.Additional terms apply to both CFAR and IFAR. CFAR and IFAR are not available in NY. This Cancel for Any Reason Benefit does not cover penalties associated with any Travel Supplier or the failure of Retail Travel Supplier to provide the bargained-for Travel Arrangements due to cessation of operations for any reason.

IFAR does not cover penalties associated with Travel Arrangements not provided by the Travel Supplier for this Trip and failure of the Travel Supplier to provide the agreed upon arrangements for Your Trip for any reason.

Covered Reasons For Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption

Covered Reasons For Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption:

  • Financial Insolvency or Financial Default of an Entity That Directly Provides Travel Arrangements
  • Military Duty for National Disaster
  • Felonious Assault
  • Hijacked, Jury duty
  • Quarantined, which means you or your traveling companion are forced into strict medical isolation by a recognized government authority, their authorized deputies, medical examiners or physician to prevent the spread of the disease due to you or your traveling companion either having, or being suspected of having an contagious disease, infection or contamination.
  • Illness, Injury or Death (you, Family Member, Traveling Companion, and more)
  • Home or Destination Uninhabitable
  • Terrorism
  • Theft of Passport/Visa
  • Traffic Accident En Route
  • Unannounced Strikes
  • Inclement Weather

The covered reasons for Trip Cancellation coverage are not identical to the covered reasons for Trip Interruption coverage. Additional terms apply to all covered reasons discussed above. Plans contain additional covered reasons for both coverages.

Covered Reasons for CFAR/IFAR:

Cancellations and Interruptions are covered if you cancel or interrupt your trip for any reason including fear of contracting Covid-19; subject to the terms of the plan.

Non-Refundable Trip Costs can be determined by referring to your program’s stated Refund Policy. Any expenses that become non-refundable prior to departure are considered part of your Non-Refundable Trip Costs.
